APPLICATION
The shout in the Martial Arts has a threefold purpose: to tighten your stomach muscles, getting all of the air out of your body, so that if struck you won’t get the wind knocked out of you; to fix your mind and body on a single point to achieve power by concentration and focus; and to audibly scare your opponent. Shouting Hallelujah! ( Praise to God!”) accomplishes these goals. You get the air out of your body and tighten your stomach muscles. You fix your mind and body on God, who is your source of power through the Holy Spirit. You are filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit as you lift your voice to God in praise, worship, and thanksgiving. And you surely will startle an attacker by screaming Hallelujah! when attacked!
